Excess Smoothie Tray = Success!

I am happy to report that the "excess smoothie ice cube try" was a success!
I had to use a spoon to help jar the smoothie cubes out a little but other than that is was easy peasy! For some reason, I have difficulty getting ice cubes out of these trays, anyways - so it is either me and my lack of simple skills, or my trays are junky. I'm hoping that it is the latter..

Before blending the smoothie cubes, I added a couple of ice cubes to enhance the chill and I also threw in some Pom to help it blend. I used about 8 smoothie cubes from 1 tray. Somehow, I managed to put in the right amount of smoothie cubes, ice cubes, and POM to fill my glass to the brim without excess. This probably made me more excited than I should have been, but hey, successes small and large should be celebrated, right!?

I think that this picture here is the reason I was in need of a solution for excess smoothie amounts. Lately, all of these ingredients are making an appearance into my smoothies. They make a darn good breakfast treat, that is for sure. (Not pictured: I throw in a couple ice cubes for more chill.)

Smoothie = 6 Weight Watcher's Points
  1. Whey Protein Powder
  2. Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt, no more than 1/2 cup
  3. Organic Baby Spinach
  4. Organic Baby Peeled Carrots
  5. Some Apple & Orange
  6. Pom Juice
  7. Triple Berry Fruit Blend: Raspberries, Blackberries & Blueberries
  8. Tropical Fruit: Mango, Pineapple, Golden Kiwi, Papaya, Red Seedless Grapes


  1. so happy to hear this worked out! i am constantly either chugging more smoothie than i desire or dumping it down the drain. now i just need to get an ice cube tray!

    1. I forgot you don't have a tray because you have an automatic ice maker!

    2. that makes the ice smell and taste like meat for some reason?! vomit.
